The new Board of Directors of the Franciacorta Consortium, at a meeting this afternoon, elected Emanuele Rabotti, owner of the Monte Rossa winery, as the new Consortium President.

With deep knowledge of the region and a long-standing dedication to the world of Franciacorta, Rabotti will lead the Consortium for the next three years with the goal of further strengthening the appellation’s identity, enhancing its prestige, and confidently addressing future challenges linked to sustainability, innovation and global markets.

‘I sincerely thank my colleagues for the confidence they have placed in me. I am honoured by this election, which I regard as a profound gesture of esteem. It is with great pride that I symbolically receive this passing of the baton from my father, Paolo Rabotti, who in 1990 was one of the founders of the Franciacorta Consortium and its first President,’ said Emanuele Rabotti. ‘In this new role I will put into practice his valuable teachings, and one in particular, ”I am, if we are”, his guiding principle for defining the Franciacorta system. I am fully committed to making a positive contribution in continuity with the good work done by those who came before me. “Sharing” will be the watchword for the years ahead: I will speak in the plural because it is together that we will continue working to promote and support Franciacorta, both the wine and the region, as we have done over the past 35 years.’

Emanuele Rabotti, a wine entrepreneur and creative spirit by nature, embodies a generation of producers who blend oenological experience with the opportunities offered by technology. Driven by tireless curiosity and a natural desire to experiment, every one of his initiatives reflects a clear idea: wine is not just a product, but an experience, a story and an identity. An innovator in thought and a creative in action, Rabotti is today a key figure on the Italian wine scene, able to speak to the contemporary world while staying true to his roots.

During the same meeting, the four Vice Presidents of the Franciacorta Consortium were also elected: Francesca Faccoli, for the economic group, Gualberto Ricci Curbastro, for the region, youth and training group, Cesare Bosio, for the research and development group, and Laura Gatti, for the communication group.
The decision to structure the vice-presidency around four members stems from the desire to ensure wide-ranging representation and alignment with the Consortium’s main internal work groups, thereby enhancing specific areas of expertise and promoting an inclusive, participatory and efficient management model, well-equipped to address the sector’s many challenges.

The Franciacorta Consortium is the body which guarantees and monitors Franciacorta production standards, as the first Italian wine produced exclusively with the bottle refermentation process to have obtained the Protected and Guaranteed Designation of Origin (DOCG) denomination in 1995. The Consortium’s work takes various forms, ranging from safeguarding its brand and region, promoting its products via ongoing work on its production regulations and denominations, consumer information campaigns and promoting Franciacorta as an expression of an area, a wine and a production method. Founded on 5 March 1990 its head offices are in Erbusco, in the heart of Franciacorta.
